Innovation in practice: company visit to Plant One Rotterdam

The KIVI-KNCV section 'Nederlandse Procestechnologen' (NPT) and the KIVI section 'Hydrocarbon Technologies & Energy Transition' (HT&ET) are pleased to give you the opportunity to have a special behind-the-scenes look at Plant One in Rotterdam. On Wednesday 12 November we are organising an extensive tour of various pilot setups, during which entrepreneurs and engineers will explain their innovations, results, challenges, and ambitions. The visit will conclude with an informal networking drink.
From idea to large-scale practical application
The transition to a sustainable, circular society requires technological breakthroughs, so there can never be too many ideas on how to get there. Many institutes and companies are conducting research to develop new, innovative processes. Turning these ideas into large-scale applications is often the hardest part. Small, start-up companies usually lack the resources to build larger installations. On the other hand, investors are often hesitant to put money into innovations they perceive as too risky. Also known as the infamous 'valley of death'!
Innovation center
Plant One Rotterdam is a unique innovation center that helps entrepreneurs turn their innovations into reality: from idea to large-scale practical application. Plant One provides all the necessary facilities to demonstrate and optimise new processes at pilot scale. At the Rotterdam location, the focus is on themes such as chemical recycling (including pyrolysis and dissolution), electrification, and energy efficiency.

Don’t wait and register now! Participation is free for students and members of KIVI and KNCV. Non-members pay a € 20 fee.
